Krabbe (KRAH-buh) disease is an inherited disorder that destroys the protective
coating (myelin) of nerve cells in the brain and throughout the nervous system.

In most cases, signs and symptoms of Krabbe disease develop in babies before 6 months
of age, and the disease usually results in death by age 2.

Common signs and symptoms early in the course of the disease include the following:
feeding difficulties, unexplained crying, extreme irritability, fever with no sign
of infection, declines in alertness, delays in typical developmental milestones,
loss of head control, frequent vomiting and last but not least muscle spasms which
will be this article’s area of interest.

There’s no cure for Krabbe disease, and treatment focuses on supportive care. However,
since neuromuscular dysfunction is one of the most annoying issues in this Disease,
treatment for this specific issue seems to be provided with laser therapy.

Undoubtedly, not all laser machines can be suitable for such delicate cases. Few
devices are to be trusted and the Physiotherapy Diode Laser System. [SIFLASER-1.41](https://sifsof.com/product/physiotherapy-diode-laser-system-siflaser-1-41/)
is among these few.

Laser Therapy with SIFLASER-1.41 has been successfully used to treat a broad range
of medical conditions, including musculoskeletal problems.

When the light source of this device is placed against the skin, the photons penetrate
several centimeters and get absorbed by the mitochondria, the energy-producing part
of a cell. This energy fuels many positive physiological responses resulting in
the restoration of normal cell morphology and function.

The central goal of this device is to stimulate the cell to perform its natural
functions but at an enhanced rate. Targeted in hemoglobin and cytochrome c oxidase,
the high-power diode laser could help the respiration and then a result has a good
performance therapy.

In sharp contrast to “Cold lasers” which provide no feeling or sensation, high power
diode laser therapy will provide a warm and soothing feeling that will surely help
Krabbe disease patients to gradually regain their physical functions.

Krabbe disease may truly be an incurable disease. Nevertheless, this should never
deny the fact that partial recovery hope should never disappear, especially that
there exist treatments for some of this disease’s side-effects.  With all the above
mentioned functionalities, the laser system : SIFLASER-1.41 might be the ultimate
solution for the musculoskeletal problems Krabbe disease causes.
