A pulmonary embolism (PE) is a blood clot that develops in a blood vessel in the body (often in the leg). It then travels to a lung artery where it suddenly blocks blood flow.
Pulmonary embolism is caused by a blocked artery in the lungs. The most common cause of such a blockage is a blood clot that forms in a deep vein in the leg and travels to the lungs, where it gets lodged in a smaller lung artery. Almost all blood clots that cause pulmonary embolism are formed in the deep leg veins.
The following are the most common symptoms of pulmonary embolism :
- Sudden shortness of breath (most common)
- Chest pain (usually worse with breathing)
- A feeling of anxiety.
- A feeling of dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting.
- Irregular heartbeat.
- Palpitations (heart racing)
- Coughing and/or coughing up blood.
- Sweating.
To evaluate a diagnostic strategy for pulmonary embolism clinical assessment is often documented as patients first choice. However, patients can go through such a step by using an advanced machine that helps them accurately and correctly locate the place of the vein. This device is called a vein finder.
The SIFSOF, for example, has become aware of such medical issues and the need to heal it through facilitating the diagnosis process. For this reason they have advanced to the medical market their exclusive invention: FDA Portable Vein Detector SIFVEIN-5.2
The SIFVEIN-5.2 is specifically designed for circumstances where locating a vein is difficult or necessitates extra concentration and care. Regardless of the patient’s age, skin color, or obesity level, the Portable Vein Detector SIFVEIN-5.2 permits veins to be seen clearly in a depth of 10 mm beneath the skin of the leg.
The device also has a depth recognition mode that improves judgment of the vein’s depth, as well as three colors (red, green, and white) that can be switched at any time based on the light in the room and the patient’s skin tone, making the vein more visible, easier to access, and increasing clinical accuracy. As a result, any potential failure diagnosis is ruled out, equally as the pulmonary embolism patient’s fear, anxiety, and most importantly pain.
Vein detectors, such as SIFSOF’s reliable and clear vein illuminator SIFVEIN-5.2, have so proven their effectiveness during skin difficult IV procedure. That’s why it should be doctors’ nurses and pulmonary embolism patient’s first option if they are looking for an accurate diagnosis, effective treatment and quick recovery.
