A spider angioma or spider nevus (plural: spider naevi), also nevus araneus, is a type of telangiectasis(swollen, spider-like blood vessels on the skin) found slightly beneath the skin’s surface, often containing a central red spot and deep reddish extensions which radiate outwards like a spider’s web or a spider’s legs.
They are common and often benign, presenting in around 10–15% of healthy adults and young children.
However, having more than three spider angiomas is likely to be abnormal and may be a sign of liver disease and/or Hepatitis C (HCV virus). It also suggests the probability of oesophagal varices.
Spider nevi (plural) can be caused by injuries, sun exposure, hormonal changes, or liver disease, but often the cause is unknown. For most people, the nevi are not a medical concern. In some cases, they cause discomfort.
Whether they cause discomfort or not, treatment sounds necessary.
Laser treatment is considered the gold standard in treating spider naevi and many different types of laser treatments are available.
One to two pulses will usually resolve up to 90% of spots. For deeper spider naevi, or for people with darker skin types, longer pulse lasers can be considered.
With regard to these requirements, the Smart Medical 26.2Watt Diode Laser SIFLASER-3.2 appears to be the best device suitable for such treatment. Thanks to its 4 wavelengths: 635nm, 810nm, 980nm and 1064nm and Maximum power up to 26.2Watt.
Most importantly, its pulse duration is 10μs-3s. This should perfectly meet doctors’ requirements.
In this way, the SIFLASER-3.2 will offer extremely easy and friendly operation. As such, doctors could easily track treatment times, save protocols and view patient profiles in the laser, and even update laser software through the internet.
Spider Angioma issue is basically a vascular issue. Accordingly, this Laser light works on treating the damaged blood tissues.
It significantly increases the formation of new capillaries in damaged tissue that speeds up the healing process, closes wounds quickly and consequently reduces scar tissue or in this case, Spider Angioma traces.
Based on all the above-mentioned characteristics, the diode Laser system SIFLASER-3.2 appears to be the most suitable device for treating the Spider Angioma issue.
