leukemia and Laser Therapy

Leukemia is cancer of the body’s blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and the lymphatic system.

In people with leukemia, the bone marrow produces an excessive amount of abnormal white blood cells, which don’t function properly.

Scientists don’t understand the exact causes of leukemia. It seems to develop from a combination of genetic and environmental factors.

Leukemia symptoms vary, depending on the type of leukemia. Common leukemia signs and symptoms include:

  •         Fever or chills
  •         Persistent fatigue, weakness
  •         Frequent or severe infections
  •         Losing weight without trying
  •         Swollen lymph nodes, enlarged liver or spleen
  •         Easy bleeding or bruising
  •         Recurrent nosebleeds
  •         Tiny red spots in your skin (petechiae)
  •         Excessive sweating, especially at night
  •         Bone pain or tenderness

Leukemia treatment can be complex — depending on the type of leukemia and other factors. But, laser treatment has proved to be very effective in this regard since different wavelengths and doses of laser phototherapy are being safely and effectively used in leukemia treatment.

To be more specific, Low-level laser therapy is greatly effective in reducing inflammation after injury, accelerating soft tissue healing and inducing angiogenesis. It is believed that the effects of LLLT on wound healing are the result of increased cell proliferation.

These exact positive effects are actually provided by the advanced Diode Laser System. SIFLASER-1.41

Indeed, this Laser therapy machine has a wide range of clinical applications, including inflammatory disorders such as leukemia disorder.

With a low- level 10W laser power, The device is mainly being used for bone pain relief.

First, it has an anti-inflammation effect as it causes vasodilation, but also because it activates the lymphatic drainage system (drains swollen areas). As a result, there is a reduction in swelling caused by the inflammation.

As for pain issues, Laser therapy has a high beneficial effect on nerve cells which block pain transmitted by these cells to the brain and which decreases nerve sensitivity. Accordingly, due to less inflammation, there will be less pain.

Leukemia can prevent white blood cells from fighting infections and cause them to multiply uncontrollably. This overgrowth can cause overcrowding of the healthy blood cells, leading to severe problems throughout the body. For that reason, treatment is primordial.

Treatment, however, can be much more effective if it is laser-guided. Using the SIFLASER-1.41, in fact, should help Leukemia patients get reassured and less sensitive to pain as long as this device provides them with a non-invasive, non-toxic treatment that will effectively restore their physical function.
